What is jersey fabric?
Jersey is a knitted fabric (cotton, wool, modal, etc.) that always contains a certain amount (e.g. 5%, 10%, etc.) of elastane. Tricot fabrics are therefore always slightly stretchy. The name comes from the French, where knitwear is called tricoter. So suddenly the meaning becomes very clear.
What are jersey fabrics used for?
The stretchiness of jersey fabric can make it a little tricky for beginners. Once you are well experienced in sewing, tricot fabrics are perfect for projects such as dresses, t-shirts, trousers, skirts, cardigans, jumpers, baby or children's clothes and basically any project you can think of. On our inspiration page you will find nice creations by our team and customers with information about the used (possibly jersey) fabrics, sewing threads and haberdashery
Price of jersey fabrics
The price of jersey fabric depends on the type of jersey you choose. In our webshop you will find over 1000 tricot fabrics between €5 and €15 per meter.
Jersey fabric widths
The widths of our tricot fabrics vary between 140 cm and 160 cm. The most extensive width is 150 cm, in which we can offer more than 1000 jersey fabrics. With the filters you can easily select your desired width.
